From the fingers and cans of often marginalised and forgotten youth, a form of true artistic expression is born, Street Art. The late 1970’s was a significant turning point in the History of Street Art - these teenagers, by responding to their socio-political environments, started a movement and finally an outlet where they could be heard by society.

 

From those formative Graffiti years, Street Art has absolutely exploded into a multidisciplinary art form.

 

Now making its way from the street to the gallery, street art has gained a powerful reputation in the contemporary art world. Emerging from a disadvantaged and discouraged group of teenagers , to worldwide recognition.
